Dogs and painting are my passion!  Having bred champion Afghan Hounds for over 25 years, competing in dog shows, obedience and lure coursing …. it seemed a likely transition to now paint these incredible creatures.  As a self taught artist, my process is unique and like no other (probably all wrong) …. but it works for me!  For me, it's more than just capturing the animal's image.  I strive to capture their spirit for life, their devotion and their inner soul.  Every dog is unique and every painting should be too!  My paintings are colorful, compelling oil paintings that cross international borders, speaking the universal language of luminous color, bold strokes and soulful eyes.  There are many fine canine artists online to choose from and the right one, for you, is the one that creates an emotional response.  Please take a look at my paintings and if you like what you see, contact me and commission a painting of your dog.

Commissions.  Like many artists, I price my paintings by the square inch.   Currently my paintings range from $2/square inch to $10/square inch depending on size of the painting and complexity of the subject.  Most are just $6/square inch and the most common size (9 x 12 inches)  or $648.  However, larger paintings can be as little as $2/square inch so ask let's talk.  I'm always delighted in any conversation involving dogs!  Contact me through this website or by emailing me at [email protected].  Some artists charge more for commissions - I do not.  Yes, I paint from photos but the photo must show detail and be in focus with good lighting.  Remember, the better the photo … the better the painting.  I work exclusively in oils and I use expensive professional grade materials.  Considering that and the quality of my work, you won't find a cheaper price!  I could charge more but I want my paintings to be affordable to the average person.  My pet peeve (no pun intended), do not ask me to "fix" something on the painting.  It's a painting, not a photograph.  Hope this answers your questions, if not … ask away!
